Westfield has announced the launch of the UK’s first rental fashion retail pop up, Style Trial, which will allow shoppers to rent clothing and accessories throughout the Christmas party season.
Style Trial is curated by stylist Melanie Rickey, who has picked key pieces from this season’s ranges from brands including Reformation, Marques Almeida, Christopher Kane, Alice Temperley, Shrimps, Mary Katrantzou, Whistles and Miss Selfridge.
There are a total of 100 garments and accessories on offer and fashion lovers can hire their favourite designer piece for a week at a time. Prices vary and include an Alice Temperley dress worth £160 for £40, a £750 Mulberry handbag for £60 and a £2,800 Christopher Kane dress for £140 a week.
A previous survey commissioned by Westfield found that 46% of 25 – 34-year-olds were interested in renting clothing and would be willing to pay £200 a month on clothing rent subscriptions.
The pop up will be open from 24 November to 17 December 2017 at Westfield London and all proceeds go to the Save the Children charity.
