London Fashion Week: Vivienne Westwood Red Label Autumn/Winter 2012

Sensible is not normally a word we’d associate with a Vivienne Westwood collection, but for this season the rebellious designer kept things, dare we say it, simple.

Pairing above the knee dresses with knee-high socks and big wrap coats, Vivienne created an extremely wearable collection without leaving behind the wild child we all know and love. In true Viv style she played with style and silhouette to create interest, not forgetting to slap in her signature checks and stripes.

For evening wear she went for basic fabrics, creating movement through subtle draping and increasing comfort through looser styles. But of course it couldn’t be too basic – she grafittied the models arms and legs just because she could. Now there’s the Viv we remember.
