Footwear brand Vans has teamed up with National Geographic to launch a new range of footwear and apparel inspired by storytelling and scientific discovery.
The Vans x National Geographic collection uses National Geographic photographs and logos on six classic Vans styles – the Sk8-Hi Reissue 138, Old Skool, Authentic, Era, Classic Slip-On, and UltraRange EXO.
National Geographic’s iconic yellow border is present on all the shoe styles, representing the sense of adventure and discovery which both brands embody.
The Era features an all-over print of some of the most iconic National Geographic covers from the past. The Classic Slip-On features unique images from the National Geographic Photo Ark, which is an effort by photographer Joel Sartore to document every species in support of wildlife conservation.
The apparel range includes styles and accessories for men, women, and kids.
The women’s long-sleeve crop tee features a screen-printed National Geographic Society seal on the front and Vans’ iconic checkerboard print on the sleeves. The men’s short-sleeve tee has the Vans logo on the front and the National Geographic globe graphic on the back.
In the spirit of both brand’s commitment to preserving the environment, items in the collection have been produced from sustainable and recycled materials, including organic cotton canvas uppers, recycled PET shoelaces, and recycled packaging. The Nat Geo Voyage Boardshorts are made with 100% renewable plant-based Sonora fibers.
