The Royal Navy has just received a “modern” wardrobe update – its first in over 70 years.

Revealed yesterday, the new uniform comprises a set of darker blue trousers and shirts, replacing the lighter blue ‘Action Working Dress’ worn by members of the force since World War Two.

The new look has been described by The Royal Navy as “more modern, comfortable and fire retardant”, with an initial roll-out of the uniform reaching 22,000 workers on operational ships.
