Olivier Rousteing to replace Christophe Decarnin at Balmain

Since announcing his departure earlier this month, Balmain’s creative director Christophe Decarnin will allegedly be replaced by the brand’s deputy designer Olivier Rousteing.  Being a relatively unknown name, WWD had to search Rousteing’s LinkedIn page to find details of his background.

Rousteing has worked for Balmain since 2009, after working for Roberto Cavalli in Milan for six years. He’s a French national who speaks multiple languages and is a graduate of the Paris fashion and art school ESMOD.

An official announcement is rumoured to be made within the next few days.
