Moss Bros sales up, and it might be thanks to One Direction

The gents in our lives are obviously smartening up their act, as Moss Bros reports its sales for the five weeks up to January 11th were up 12.9 per cent.

Brian Brick, the Chief Executive of the brand, suggested that the success was down to a focus on own-brand suits and a range of ‘guest brands’ including Ted Baker and DKNY – but Brick also may have One Direction and their peers to thank for the surge in sales, as he commented: “We have had a fantastic season on casual jackets, coats and blazers with guys going out smarter. I think all these boy bands have had an influence.”
