Knitwear brand John Smedley has opened their third standalone retail store, in Marylebone London. The store focuses on the brand’s womenswear lines, of which sales have increased 35% since 2016.
The store has been designed with features that represent the brand’s dedication to British craftsmanship, as well as to appeal to female shoppers with a lighter design compared to their Jermyn Street store, and a boutique feel.
Interior design features include bespoke wooden lighting, steam bent by hand at the John Smedley workshop in Cornwall, vintage Ercol furniture refurbished with merino wool covers, Derbyshire marble, and industrial-style steel racking systems.
The 1,400 sq ft retail space, spread over two floors, is the brand’s largest to date. The ground floor floor will focus on fashion and colour, with more classic styles on the lower-ground floor. Although the primary focus of the store is womenswear, menswear will also feature across both floors.
The store is open now at 24 New Cavendish Street, Marylebone.
