We just got a little bit over excited at the news that the Duchess of Cambridge is rumoured to be gracing the cover of US Vogue in the near future. Editor of the fashion Bible, Anna Wintour, is said to be in talks with Royal photographer and fashion favourite Mario Testino to convince Kate to take part in a photoshoot.
British born Wintour is a known fan of the Princess, saying: “There’s nothing trashy or vulgar about her [Kate]…she dresses her age and never looks out of place.” We’re hoping Anna’s pulling power in the fashion world will be enough to get Kate on the Vogue cover.
According to the Telegraph, a source told American newspaper The New York Post that “Anna [Wintour] has been speaking to Mario about winning over Kate. She is really pressing him to shoot Kate for the cover.” However, all Royal engagements have to be approved by the Palace, who are believed to have advised Kate to decline her invitation to appear on the front of British Vogue before her wedding to Prince William in April, due to the fact that William’s mother Princess Diana featured in the publication three times.
We hope they change their minds – watch this space!
