New clothing and lifestyle brand The Land Between The Seas creates print-on-demand streetwear that has a story to tell.
Founded by Chungaiz Khan Mumtaz and Ryo Sanada, both of whom have global experience leading marketing for Nike and The Business of Fashion, the brand is all about challenging cultural perceptions and celebrating original stories about real people and real places.
Primarily made up of short and long-sleeved T-shirts and hoodies, the collection is guaranteed to spark conversation, mixing a streetwear influence with eye-catching graphics and striking neon slogans.
“During this period of global re-assessment, impact and connectivity we are all (amongst other things) re-interpreting and re-evaluating what ‘travel’ means, what experience means,” Mumtaz explains. “In the case of The Land Between The Seas, it is exploration and growth through image, words and imagination.”
“On the one hand, there is no need for ‘yet another T-shirt brand’ when we’re all conscious about over-consumption; but on the other there is always place for considered creative output, and community support for eco-aware, independent brands. And if you’re going to wear a tee shirt with a story on it, it had better [have] a damned good story to tell.”
Describing its handcrafted garments as “zero-waste souvenirs” from the “road less travelled”, The Land Between The Seas is poised to strike a chord with fans of streetwear – and storytelling – across the world.
