New York based eyewear brand Illesteva has teamed up with the Michael Jackson estate to launch a limited edition style of sunglasses inspired by those worn by Michael during his 1984 Victory Tour.
The sunglasses, released to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Thriller album, are an aviator style lens created from a single sheet lens with a gold mirrored face. There are gold accents at the temples and the lenses are engraved with Michael Jackson’s signature.
The glasses are handmade in Italy and come with a branded box and canvas pouch.
Illesteva CEO and designer, Daniel Silberman, said: “Michael Jackson, one of the most iconic performers of all time, was rarely seen without sunglasses. When we think of him, the aviator immediately comes to mind. We wanted to design a shape that he would wear on stage today but combined with modern technology.”
200 numbered frames will be produced for the release, available online and from selected Illesteva stores for $240.
