Harrods opens fine watch department

Harrods has opened a new fine watch department in its Knightsbridge store, making it the first department store in the world to have its own onsite watchmakers.

Brands on offer include Jaeger-LeCoultre, Hublot, TAG Heuer, Roger Dubuis and Audemars Piguet, and several of the brands have their own standalone boutiques.

The space is designed across two floors with a marble staircase sweeping through the centre to create a sense of movement. The room also uses detailing and materials that are typically found in luxury watches such as a mahogany leather bannister, brushed hardware handles, and a Terrazzo floor with bronze inlay strips, reminiscent of a watch face.

Annalise Fard, Harrods’ Director of Fine Watches and Jewellery, said: “We are pleased to offer the world’s leading brands under one roof. We wanted to take our clients on a journey.”

An onsite specialist team will be available to advise on purchases and help with adjustments and care of purchased timepieces.
