Dickies’ utilitarian clothes have always had a gender-neutral appeal, but now the brand has focused particularly on fit for women with the launch of Engineered For Women.
To create the collection, the Dickies team looked at the common issues women experience with menswear silhouettes. However, instead of just downsizing existing designs, the team carried out subtle re-proportioning and tweaking “to ensure the overall look was not compromised in any way.” Tweaks to note include a new dropped shoulder to prevent the square, pointy shape sometimes created by a men’s sweater or tee, and a shorter length in the body of sweats and tees to allow for more shape.
As well as overalls and pants in the typical workwear colours, Dickies has introduced soft pastels for the perfect juxtaposition – a powdery pink, pistachio green and pale peach.
