Crocs collaborates on Christopher Kane catwalk

Now, had you told us a few seasons ago that Crocs would be gracing one of the most anticipated shows at we’d probably have raised a perfectly groomed eyebrow, smirked and flatly said, “NO, not going to happen”.

Cue Christopher Kane’s recent Spring/Summer 2017 show and we stand corrected. As part of his collection, a bespoke collection of limited edition Crocs in a special marble print in green, blue, orange and brown, as well as high shine plain colours in rich earthy tones, and embellished with beautiful natural gemstone Jibbitz adorned gracious models, casually sauntering along the runway.

Christopher Kane, said of the partnership: “I always work with unexpected items and combinations, transforming the everyday into desirable luxury. I wanted to bring my own stamp and DNA to Crocs’ classic clog and achieve something really special. The marble print feels very earthy and I often think of Crocs shoes in a very grounded way, worn with either an evening dress or with jeans, and adding the rock crystals brings a bit of luxury to this everyday style. Crocs are arguably the most comfortable shoe, and I love that they are slightly awkward and might be perceived by some as ‘ugly’. They have a very naïve and childlike shape which I especially like when they look extra clunky on the foot.”

We anticipate even the most hardened fashionistas will be donning a pair come spring!
