The Dead Rabbit, New York Irish style tavern and winner of the title of World’s Best Bar 2016, will be running a pop-up bar for one week only at Claridge’s in August
The 19th-Century bar’s second floor “parlour” will be recreated inside Claridge’s, including period furnishings, ragtime piano, New York-style bar service, and the comic-style cocktail menu the original bar is famous for.
The original Dead Rabbit bar dates back to 1828 and occupies a three-storey building in Lower Manhattan. The bar is named after a notorious Irish street gang that patrolled the area in the mid 19th century.
As well as its award-winning cocktails, the bar will also serve Irish coffee and food specialties including Irish lamb stew, Cumberland sausage rolls, and lobster deviled eggs.
The Dead Rabbit previously opened a month-long pop-up at Big Easy in Covent Garden last summer.
The pop-up bar will open from 15-22 August at Claridge’s on Brook Street in Mayfair.
