CHANEL decide not to open online store

Chanel has made the decision not to sell its coveted clothes and accessories online. The company has decided that in keeping with the Chanel ethos, its boutiques will be the only place to purchase the collections. President of Chanel fashion Bruno Pavlovski has said that he wants customers to, “come to the boutique, because we feel that in the boutique we can give you the right understanding of the brand”. Another reason for this decision is to support the brand’s alteration service and highlight the importance of trying on the clothes clothes, as well as interact with the product directly. Chanel want their pieces to fit perfectly and be tailor-made to the customer.

This is probably a wise decision, not least because being able to buy Chanel at a click of a mouse may prove to be a bit too tempting…
