Continuing its dedication to British production, Burberry is set to invest at least £50m into a new Leeds-based factory.

The new location will bring the production of its iconic gaberdine trench coat to one space, which is currently split across two factories in the north of England, with its current 800 staff members said to be relocated by 2018.

An extra 200 jobs are also said to be created as a result of the new premises, with the brand potentially able to triple its current output of 5,000 trench coats per week.

The news comes as Burberry revealed its London, Prorsum and Brit lines will be rolled into one simple ‘Burberry’ label next summer.
