British Airways are launching a new twice-daily flight to Milan from London City Airport, starting from 24 April 2017.
All flights will be operated on Embraer 190 jet aircraft with two abreast seating so every passenger will have a window or aisle seat.
Milan is well known as an international centre of fashion and hosts its own fashion week in February/March and September/October of each year. The new route will provide an additional travel option for those attending London fashion on 15 -19 September to fly directly to Milan for its fashion week, which starts on 20 September.
A twice-weekly flight will also be available from Stansted airport on weekends only, starting from 29 April.
General manager of customer and commercial at BA, Luke Hayhoe, said: “Milan is a very exciting route for us as it will appeal to both business and leisure customers. The new services gives the choice of two alternative London airports with well-timed flights to Linate, which is Milan’s most convenient airport.”
The new service will run at 10.20am and 19.20 am from London City Airport Monday to Friday. Only the morning flight will run on Saturdays, and the evening flight on Sundays. The return service operates at 6.55am Monday to Saturday and 5.55pm Monday to Friday and Sunday from Milan’s Linate Airport. The total flight time is two hours.
Fares start from £45 and can be booked online at ba.com.
