Anita Barr becomes Harvey Nichols fashion buying director

Anita Barr, who joined All Saints as global director of product merchandising as recently as November, is to join the senior management team at Harvey Nichols.

Barr, who has also worked at Selfridges and Harrods, starts her position as fashion buying director at the end of the month and is reported to be “thrilled” at the appointment, calling the brand of “one of the world’s leading luxury department stores.”

She will report to Stacey Cartwright, who said of the news, “I am delighted that Anita will be joining the senior management team. This is an exciting time for Harvey Nichols and her expertise and experience in this market will help strengthen our fashion leadership in the sector.”

Harvey Nichols’ former fashion director Paula Reed left the company suddenly last year, following reports that she had broken the store’s strict and well-documented no-fur policy.
