London-based fashion designer Alice Temperley received an MBE from the Queen two days ago for services to the fashion industry.
The 35-year-old designer, who has worked in the fashion world for ten years, admitted she wasn’t entirely happy with her encounter with the Queen. “Unfortunately I walked away without curtseying, which is annoying,” she said.
For the special occasion she wore a tuxedo jacket and trouser suit from her autumn/winter 2011 collection, which previewed at London Fashion Week last month.
In September she is releasing a book called ‘True British: Alice Temperley’, which will document a decade of her label in the fashion industry.
