After 14 years at the helm, fashion designer Alber Elbaz is leaving luxury label Lanvin.

In a statement, Elbaz said his departure was “the decision of the company’s majority shareholder”, referencing Taiwanese publisher Shaw-Lan Wang, adding he hopes the fashion house “finds the business vision it needs to engage in the right way forward.”

It is also reported that Elbaz had disagreements with the label’s Chief Executive Officer Michèle Huiban prior to the decision.

In response, the brand thanked him “for the chapter he has written” in a brief statement.
