British menswear label Afield has introduced their latest collection, “La Habana”, inspired by life in 1950s downtown Havana.
The washed out colour palette is reminiscent of the faded buildings associated with Cuban architecture and a number of iconic Cuban motifs are also used across shirts, t-shirts and swimwear in the collection.
Prints include palm trees, tropical plants, flamingos, and oranges. There’s also a nod to Hemmingway with a marlin-print shirt and daiquiri motifs. The whole collection conjures up exotic Cuban nights complete with showgirls, maracas, and fine cigars.
Fabrics used in the collection include classic linens, colourful poplins, crepe cottons, lightweight cashmere, and twills. Lightweight tailoring with Cuban collars and vintage-inspired knits create the perfect casual-meets-tropical feel.
