Abercrombie & Fitch staff “told to do press ups” when they mess up

Yep, you read that right – actual press-ups. According to an e-mail leaked to Italy’s Corriere della Sera newspaper, staff are instructed to do either ten press ups or ten squats by their managers when they make a mistake. Talk about fitness freaks…

Abercrombie & Fitch are known for their buff models and equally attractive staff, but clearly the company want to build their muscles even more with this novel form of punishment. Men are required to do ten press ups when they slip up at work, while women are given ten squats.

The leaked e-mail, which refers to Abercrombie & Fitch stores in Italy, read: “From today, every time we make an error we’ll have to do 10 press-ups, or squats for the women. This will bring about a great result – we will learn from our mistakes.” The e-mail dates back to April last year, so whether the regime is still in practice is unknown.

Is this a good idea or a bit too harsh?
