Bamford Watch Department has worked with artists including Marc Quinn and Daniel Arsham, fashion legend, Karl Lagerfeld as well as The Rodnik Band, DRx, Fragment and a collaboration with Apple Corps which paid homage to The Beatles.
Making history and signing official customisation agreements with major Swiss watch brand Zenith, TAG Heuer and Bulgari, with others following, Bamford Watch Department is the first customisation house venturing into a new market with one-of-a-kind watches offered with the full support of the brand.
We caught up with George for the latest in our ‘My London’ interview series.
I am going to give you two because I love them both. One is Mayfair because you are on the cusp of everything. From Hyde Park to Soho, it is right by so many amazing London spots. I also love Spitalfields as it has a great vibe and it always inspires me.
Favourite place for brunch:
Daylesford Organic in Pimlico for the vibe, the people, the everything.
Best coffee in London:
I am annoying as I don’t drink coffee. I only drink iced green tea.
Favourite gallery or museum:
It has to be the V&A. I love their exhibitions and how the space works. I feel excited when I am there.
Tell us a secret:
I am sneaker freak.
Favourite place to shop:
Favourite place to find inspiration:
Brompton Oratory. I love the peace of the place and how the light plays within the building. It is a place I can clear my mind and form new ideas.
Best London destination for a date:
I love visiting Annabels. It feels like a page out of Scott Fitzgerald’s Gatsby. It is a sexy environment perfect for an amazing date night.
I always love walking or running through Hyde Park in any season.
Favourite food market:
Borough Market is a discovery of food in such a vibrant area. It always feels new each time you visit.
Your sanctuary in the city:
I always think home is where the heart is. My office at home is an absolute mess but it is my sanctuary.
What inspires you?
When I am in the mood to be inspired, it could be the most beautiful rising sun or an amazing suiting material or a cool car passing by. I feel you have to be inspired by your current mood and what has synergy with that mood.
This season I’m loving:
Private White V.C. Their staff, their style, their vibe, actually just their everything.
