Born into a musical family, Becca Dudley is a successful DJ and presenter. A graduate from London College of Fashion, she cut her teeth as an editor and stylist for Fiasco Magazine as well as being a model in her own right – shooting campaigns for, amongst others, Jack Wills and Boohoo.
Becca’s TV career began in 2012 when she was signed up by MTV to front their daily news programme. She quickly rose up the ranks to become the station’s lead presenter, interviewing the world’s biggest music artists, celebrities and beyond – including Pharrell Williams, Cameron Diaz and Stormzy. Becca now fronts multiple shows for MTV including her own music show, MTV Live Stage, while also covering worldwide music events and festivals for MTV International – including the MTV EMA Backstage and Red Carpet shows in 2016 and 2017.
In 2017 Becca joined ITV’s X Factor family, fronting their online content and hosting digital spin-off series Xtra Bites. After a successful first season she was invited to host 2018’s X Factor Live Tour.
Alongside her television work Becca also graces the radio airwaves. You can find Becca DJing at major venues and festivals across the world – recently spinning at Glastonbury and supporting some of the world’s biggest reggae and dancehall acts, including Protoje and Morgan Heritage.
We caught up with Becca for the latest in our ‘My London’ interview series.
Dalston. I spend a lot of time there – so many great restaurants and bars and I just love the vibe!
Favourite place for brunch:
Sunday Cafe – Highbury & Islington – they do the most delicious food and it’s always extremely busy, so I like to go off peak and by myself to ensure I get a seat. I’m addicted though, I go almost every week!
Best coffee in London:
Shed by Haggerston station! Super tasty and they do all my fave milk alternatives.
Favourite gallery or museum:
There’s always something weird or wonderful at the Tate.
Tell us a secret:
I eat ice cream with a fork.
Favourite place to shop:
Monki – it’s a high street chain but they do so many cute little unusual bits that I never seem to see anyone else wearing!
Favourite place to find inspiration:
My favourite thing to do is to people watch in the back of the Taxi. Watch the world go by and just look at everyone going about their own lives – I always find it grounding and inspiring.
Best London destination for a date:
Bring Your Own Cocktail – it’s a little speak easy bar in Mornington Crescent where you bring a bottle of your fave spirit, and a personal mixologist will make you endless cocktails from it! Super fun ice breaker and conversation starter.
London Fields. In the summer it’s basically a massive party every day and always has a sick atmosphere.
Favourite food market:
I love KERB at Camden market – I used to work in Camden and I would go there every day and get something different – from mac n cheese to delicious Indian wraps made of fresh naan! My mouth waters just thinking about that place.
Your sanctuary in the city:
Espa at the Corinthia hotel. It’s expensive but it’s the most zen, tranquil, luxurious place so I like to treat myself to a spa day there every now and then!
What inspires you?
The people around me. My family and friends are doing so many amazing things – I’m constantly proud and inspired.
This season I’m loving:
Jackets. I’ve been fed up of summer dressing, I love LAYERS! So now there’s a bit of breeze I can start dressing better and wearing all my favourite jackets again.
