Ted Baker is celebrating the launch of its all-new ‘Take the Lead’ collection with a film, and we have an exclusive clip to share with you our readers.

We would hazard a guess that the producers and directors of said film are Strictly Come Dancing fans, as the main sequence concludes with a mysterious selection of dancers all dressed in Ted’s finest.

When it comes to the collection itself, the focus is very much on combining the classic with the modern. The womenswear lineup includes vintage-inspired floral prints (such as Opulent Bloom and Botanical Bloom) accented by splashes of pink, and is informed by the designer’s continued love affair with the 1950s. Sportswear and texture are also references, with neoprene sweat silhouettes, joggers and bomber jackets, as well as embossed snakeskin, sequins and graphic jacquards making an appearance.

Prints are a signature for the brand, and fans won’t be disappointed by the engineered ‘Road to Nowhere’ pattern inspired by landscapes, or the paisley and dogtooth motifs of the collection.

Gents should look out for the new ‘Phormal’ collecton, inspired by traditional tailoring techniques but given a modern twist. Highlights include metallic-blue and emperor-purple suiting in slim, sharp shapes and a windowpane-check three-piece suit, designed to be styled with a contrasting navy waistcoat and all the trimmings of a pocket square and printed tie. Watch out for the finest Italian fabrications, mother-of-pearl buttons and 1920s-style linings.
