5 of The Best Luxury Candle Shops in London

Features | | Leave a Comment

We’re now in the middle of autumn and the long winter nights are starting to draw in, so it’s the perfect time to think about how to make you home a bit more cosy and inviting. Luxury candles are the perfect accessory to add both light and a soothing scent to your home.

It won’t have escaped anyone’s notice that premium candles have become a booming industry. Naturally they’re far more expensive than a trusty 12-pack of Ikea tea lights, but their scents are more complex and longer-lasting, and the beautiful vessels can have a second life as a pot for your succulent, pens on your desk or makeup brushes.

If you just can’t get enough of scented candles in the autumn and winter months, we’ve compiled a list of the best luxury candle shops in London, so you can shop and sniff to your heart’s content.

1. Diptyque

Paris-based fragrance brand Diptyque has several boutiques in London at locations including Covent Garden, Mayfair, Marylebone, Notting Hill, and Old Spitalfields market. Each shop has it’s own design and personality, but the staff in all locations are helpful and experienced and will help you choose the perfect scent.

This year, Diptyque has launched a collection of “Lucky Charm” candles for the festive season. The candles are presented in a collection of colourful glasses with designs by artist Olaf Hajek, and are available in Lucky Flowers (rose with spices), Blissful Amber (amber, lavender, and musk) or Protective Pine (pine with notes of basil and sage). Of course Diptyque’s classic candle scents for autumn and winter are still available. We recommend Feu De Bois – a smoky, woody scent that’s reminiscent of a crackling open fire.

As well as candles, the shops also stock perfumes, room sprays, and face and body care products. You can also arrange a private workshop and shopping experience.

For the winter months, try Grand Cascade – a smoky blend of cedar, moss, and amber, or Pinetum – a scent inspired by a Christmas tree with pine, fir, balsam, and cinnamon.
