News broke today that John Galliano has been officially fired from Dior with immediate effect, following the emergence of a video in which the designer makes a number of anti-Semitic remarks. It is thought that he is to fight the decision, but with the Dior AW’11 show set to take place in Paris this Friday we take a look at some possible replacements.
Israeli- born Alber Elbaz could be set to take on the head role at Dior. With experience at both Lanvin and YSL, Elbaz is no stranger to luxury design and could be the perfect replacement.
Creative director at Givenchy, Riccardo Tisci is hotly tipped to replace Galliano, who also worked for the brand before Dior. Like Dior, Givenchy is also owned by LMVH, making him an even more likely successor.
An unlikely candidate due to the fall of his own couture house, however Christian Lacroix does understand the ultra-glamorous aesthetic so eponymous with Dior. Could he take over from Mr. Galliano?
