Stella Tennant on the realities of the modelling industry

Model Stella Tennant fronts this week’s issue of ES Magazine, out tomorrow Thursday 17th March.

In a candid interview, Stella reminisces about her first job for British Vogue, talks candidly about the reality of modelling and her refusal to fight the ageing process.

“I feel better about my body than I did in my twenties, because I feel extremely grateful to my body for being able to take four babies through pregnancy, and breastfeed,” she explains. “That made me really appreciate it and not obsess about one small patch of cellulite on my upper thigh.”

She describes the industry as “so different” for young models now. “You have all the pressures of social media. You’re expected to be involved with all kinds of projects and exposing so much of yourself constantly. I would hate that side of it.”

She also has no wishes for her children to follow in her modelling footsteps. “They’ve got to get on with school. Education is really important. Never more so than now,” Stella says.

The full interview appears in this week’s issue of ES Magazine, out Thursday 17th March 2016.
