Multibrand concept store, The Shop at Bluebird, is to open a new store on Covent Garden’s Floral Street, inside Carriage Hall.
The Shop at Bluebird, part of the Jigsaw group already has stores on King’s Road behind the Bluebird restaurant, and in Guilford, Surrey, and has an online store hosted on Farfetch. It stocks over 70 designer brands including fashion, beauty, home, and lifestyle products.
The 19th century Grade II listed Carriage Hall has recently been refurbished to convert the space from offices to retail space, including a double height glass atrium.
The Shop at Bluebird will occupy 15,000 sq ft spread over two floors, with a large restaurant on the second floor. Other brands with stores nearby include agnès B, Diptyque, Paul Smith, and the upcoming Kent & Curwen flagship.
Peter Ruis, CEO of Jigsaw, said: “In a world full of mediocre, identikit shop concepts, the Shop at Bluebird will be a celebration of only the finest in luxury fashion, beauty, home, lifestyle and food. It will be an international destination for all those that seek excellence in retail.”
Director of Capco Covent Garden, Michelle McGrath, said: “The Shop at Bluebird is the perfect fit for Carriage Hall and Floral Street which is returning to its fashion and lifestyle roots. Their retail excellence and curated luxury will set the store apart and complements our vision for Covent Garden, where we are creating a differentiated lifestyle location for our visitors. Along with other British heritage brands such as Kent & Curwen and Paul Smith, the signing further enhances Floral Street as a world class address.”
The store is set to open in early 2018.
