London’s the park (and café) is located at the Old Selfridges Hotel on Orchard Street and opens to the public today. Free to use, it is a temporary fixture that will close on April 19th and is the largest indoor facility of its kind in the capital.
The designers behind the project took inspiration from famous skating locations around London, including a bench near the Thames barrier, handrails at Moorgate and a skate area at Southwark Station.
This being Selfridges the opening would not be complete without some luxury merchandise – also opening is a dedicated shop including one-off and limited edition skateboard designs by Erdem, KENZO, Maison Martin Margiela and Rick Owens.
Selfridges skatepark will be open 12pm to 9pm Monday to Friday, 10am to 9pm on Saturdays and 12pm to 6pm on Sundays.
