Selfridges has been named the world’s best department store for a third time, beating off stiff competition from Macy’s, John Lewis and Harrods to claim the title.
Awarded by industry peers at the Global Department Store Summit in Singapore, the award takes into account strong financial performance, customer service and an outstanding in-store experience.
Selfridges, which has its flagship store on Oxford Street, will retain the title until 2016.
“This award is international recognition of the global reach of our brand,” commented group managing director Paul Kelly. “Selfridges has gone from strength to strength worldwide, and this prestigious retail award recognises the status of our brand as a successful retail innovator. Receiving this distinction for a third term is truly exciting.”
