The Duchess of Cambridge touched down in New Zealand in almost top-to-toe red for the first day of the royal tour of the country and neighbouring Australia.
Her dress coat was by British couturiers Catherine Walker and Co, who are based in Chelsea, and her hat by milliner Gina Foster, who has had a hat shop in the capital since 2010.
It was rumoured before the tour that the Queen herself was taking more of an interest in what Catherine wears for royal occasions, requesting that she dress in a more regal way befitting her position as future Queen and mother of the heir to the throne.
Though Kate’s first tour outfit is unlikely to have excited many fashion critics and observers, they are sure to be keeping a close eye on what she wears for the rest of the trip. We certainly will be.
