Famous St James’s restaurant, Quaglino’s will be honouring its Italian-born founder, Giovanni Quaglino, with a new aperitivo cocktail menu featuring seven new cocktails and a selection of bar snacks.
The new cocktails represent some of the most famous regions of north and south Italy and blend the best Italian liquors with a range of hand-picked luxury ingredients.
The aperitivo is the Italian tradition of meeting friends after work for cocktails and a light bite before dinner. The menu was created with Quaglino’s bar team alongside Executive Head Chef Piero Leone.
> Conte Cavour – London N1 Gin, Cinzano Bianco, Rosso Cinzano Asti, vanilla, lemon balm, verbena
> La Scala – Campari, Martini Rubino, Cynar, Amer Picon
> La Gondola – Maraschino, lime, kiwi, Prosecco
> La Superba – Marjoram-infused vodka, Antica Formula, homemade superba sauce, tomato, and Bloody Mary mix
> Ponte Vecchio – Sultanas, rosemary-infused Tanqueray 10, Martini Ambrato, Campari, Barolo Chinato, Galliano Balsamico
> Partenope – Limoncello, Strega liqueur, fennel-infused vodka, Campari, Peroni Ambra foam
> Il Pupo – Oregano-infused Belvedere, Averna, homemade orange marmalade, spiced ginger ale.
The Italian-inspired bar snack menu includes dishes designed to perfectly complement the cocktails such as Burrata surf ‘n’ turf, tomato arancini and smoked beef carpaccio.
Every Thursday will be Aperitivo night until the end of the year, with live music providing a backdrop for the cocktails, kicking of with the Black Coffee Jazz Trio playing Italian Jazz, Latin Jazz, soul, swing, and bossa.
The new menu will be available from 25th January until the 1st December 2018 every Thursday from 4 – 7pm at Quaglino’s, 16 Bury Street, St James’s, London, SW1Y 6AJ. All cocktails are priced at £12.50.
