For Spring Summer 2014, Primark presents a collection inspired directly by the catwalk; contrasting textures, a candy-colour palette and bold prints. Classically feminine silhouettes sit alongside varsity-influenced pieces, ensuring a versatile lineup for the Primark woman.
A distinctively youthful feel encompasses the collection, with designer-led trends taking clear precedence. For Outerwear, a Chloe-style pastel-pink biker jacket is toughened up with black and silver zips and stitch detailing, or fro the more minimalist at heart there is a crisp white midi coat (think a Carven/Celine silhouette with a short sleeve.)
For day, lace pieces are revved up with sporty collars, pockets and loose silhouettes. Multi texturing comes in the form of polka-dotted sheer fabrics, mesh panels and quilting.
Bold pops of orange, red and pink are underpinned by white, which runs through the collection. Check skirts, shirts and dresses bring a flirty fifties edge to the collection, which compliments the feel of an all-American summer hinted throughout.
Stand-out pieces include a matching top and skirt in a bold paint stroke print, in homage to Phoebe Philo’s collection for Celine, and a candy-pink lace dress with cap sleeves and a button-up collar, reminiscent of Cara Delevigne’s look on the Burberry Prorsum runway.
