Following the news that Natalie Massenet will be joining Farfetch, it has also been reported that her Venture Capital business, Imaginary Futures, will be launched within the next few months.
Massenet registered the business in 2015 shortly after her departure from Net-a-Porter, although it was not clear at the time what sort of project the company was intended to be. She is currently listed as the sole director and shareholder. Massenet is expected to partner with Nicholas Brown, a VC expert who has backed several fashion companies previously including Moda Operandi, Everlane, and Lyst.
Sources revealed that the pair have already met with up to 50 potential investors and have plans to create a substantial investment fund. One of the companies the fund plans to invest in is claimed to be online luxury fashion retailer, Farfetch, of which Massenet joined as non-executive co-chairman at the end of February this year.
Other companies rumoured to be of interest to Imaginary Futures include Dirty beverage company Dirty Lemon, and superfood soup and smoothie delivery service, Daily Harvest.
Neither Massenet nor Brown have so far officially confirmed their activities with Imaginary Futures.
