Sir Paul McCartney has married for the third time to American heiress Nancy Shevell at an intimate ceremony in London. For the nuptials Nancy had Paul’s fashion designer daughter Stella McCartney create a simple one-off dress, which she finished off with ivory satin kitten heels and a cute white hair flower.
The ceremony took place in the same Marylebone registry office yesterday where Paul married his first wife Linda McCartney, on the birthday of deceased Beatles band mate John Lennon. It is reported that around 30 close friends and family attended the ceremony, including another Beatle, Ringo Starr.
The official wedding portraits were taken by another talented McCartney child, Mary, for which Paul and Nancy posed in a mixture of fun and quirky positions (above). One for the mantelpiece perhaps?
8-year-old Beatrice, the daughter of Sir Paul and his second wife Heather Mills, acted as bridesmaid for the day, showering her dad and new step-mum with confetti as they left the registry office to attend the reception at their North London home.
It is said that the couple bought 300 bottles of vintage Cristal and Laurent Perrier for the celebrations at £180 a pop. Sounds like a fun time was had by all.
