Mulberry has announced a new collaboration with artist Grayson Perry, and that they will be sponsoring his new exhibition, “The Most Popular Art Exhibition Ever!”, at the Serpentine Gallery in London.
Grayson Perry is most famous for his ceramic vases and is also a prolific commentator on social and cultural issues. His latest exhibition explores themes such as popularity and art, masculinity, and the current cultural landscape.
Johnny Coca, creative director at Mulberry said: “We’re delighted to be supporting Grayson Perry’s The Most Popular Art Exhibition Ever! at the Serpentine. There is a true connection between fashion and art. Grayson’s work is intrinsically British and his fusion of traditional craftsmanship and techniques, with a modern point of view is a juxtaposition that resonates strongly with Mulberry.”
The new Mulberry Amberly bag will be available in two versions: a crocodile skin effect in holographic green and turquoise, lined with candy-pink suede, and a smooth calf leather version in vibrant lemon yellow.
Grayson Perry said about the bags: “I do love a handbag. Handbags are sculptures; we sit them on the table and feast our eyes and we cannot resist touching them. Can’t wait to plunge my hand into my new Mulberry,”
The new bags are part of Mulberry’s Autumn Winter 2017 collection and are named after a street in London. They feature detachable and interchangeable leather and chain handles.
The exhibition is open now at the Serpentine Gallery in London.
