Online luxury men’s fashion retailer Mr Porter has announced the launch of its in-house label, Mr P.
The current Mr P range focuses on core essentials, with five limited-edition trend-driven and seasonal capsule collections to be released each year.
Mr P has been developed by in-house designers with seven years of customer insight and feedback from Mr Porter shoppers.
The November launch capsule is inspired by 20th century British painter Lucian Freud, during his prime in 1950s London. This debut capsule includes 24 essential styles and 29 seasonal styles.
Pieces include cashmere knitwear, Oxford shirts, Japanese selvedge denim, and overcoats in wool and cashmere blends. Most of the collection is made in Italy, with some items made in Portugal and Japan.
Toby Bateman, Managing Director at Mr Porter said: “At MR PORTER, we are – first and foremost – product people. This passion for quality, uniqueness, style and versatility has been the backbone to developing our business for the past seven years. The launch of Mr P. has therefore been quite organic for us; we felt there was a space in our mix of 400-plus brands for something that could present a unique take on wardrobe classics and also present regular capsules of more trend- and seasonal-driven pieces throughout the year. We like to think we have an unparalleled view of the male wardrobe, garnering the combined knowledge of our buyers and editors, and Mr P. is ultimately the result of that: smart details, easy pieces and enduring style.”
The second capsule collection is set to launch in February, and a shoe and accessories collection will be introduced for autum winter 2018.
Mr P is available exclusively from mrporter.com, with pieces priced from £55 for a basic cotton t-shirt to £875 for a leather aviator jacket.
