Mens tailoring brand Moss Bros has announced the closure of its Covent Garden store, some 160 years after it began life as a second hand market stall in the same London district.

According to reports, the lease on its two-storey King Street store has now expired, and the store will cease trading from today.  Staff were informed of the closure in a meeting this week, with the company stating they plan to redistribute staff to roles in other surrounding stores.

The area is also currently at the centre of a £90m redevelopment plan by Covent Garden landlord Capco.
