Monsoon Accessorize tops minimum wage list of shame

High street retailer Monsoon Accessorize Ltd, which operates Monsoon and Accessorize stores across the UK, has topped a list of companies that have failed to pay its staff the minimum working wage.

The brand currently owes £104,508 to 1,438 workers, with the discrepancy pinned on offering staff cut-price clothing to wear as uniform, the cost of which was deducted from their wages.

According to reports, the issue was discovered after tax authorities reviewed its payroll system, with basic wages now being raised to prevent a repeat of the problem.
