The BMW group is celebrating it’s centenary this year, and to mark the occasion we hot footed it down to London’s Roundhouse for a very special MINI evening, exploring the future of personalisation and to witness the unveiling of the MINI Vision Next 100.
After a glass or two of red wine and a quick swot up on the history of the BMW group, we made our way through to the impressive arena of the Roundhouse, decked out especially for the event with futuristic furniture and iMax style display screens.
Mark Adams, Head of Innovation at VICE, took to the stage to welcome us and discuss how technology is disrupting and changing the way we live and work.
MINI’s Head of Design, Anders Warming, gave a MINI history lesson. Originally designed by Sir Alec Issigonis, the MINI has always had inventiveness at the heart of its DNA – the first ever model championed unique design, innovative thinking and opened the door to mass personalization and transportation.
With anticipation building, the grand unveiling of the MINI Vision Next 100 followed. The future MINI ensures the driving experience is hyper-personalised – responding to the mood, style and personality of whoever is driving it. This ensures that with a future destined for access, rather than ownership, the MINI can be shared and still be your MINI.
So, what’s the MINI Vision Next 100 like? Fancy a personalized greeting as you approach the vehicle? You’ve got it. How about augmented reality display on the glass front of the car, enhancing the driving experience so that you feel closer to the road? Not a problem. The MINI Vision Next 100 takes things to a whole new level and highlights MINI’s commitment for future models to offer personal mobility, using the latest in autonomous driving and digital intelligence technology.
The BMW Group Future Experience, showcasing MINI’s Vision Vehicle is taking place at the Roundhouse in London until Sunday 26th of June. Visit www.mininext100.co.uk or @MINIUK for more information. #MINI #NEXT100
