London’s Regent Street is introducing Bluetooth Beacon technology to it’s stores, pushing exclusive offers to people as they shop.
Working through a smartphone app, customers will receive alerts, promotions and upcoming product information directly to their phone, specific to the store they are visiting. Retailers including & Other Stories, Hamleys, Hackett, Karl Lagerfeld, Anthropologie, Armani Exchange and Cos have already signed up, enabling customers to receive exclusive offers for shopping in their store.
The app will also build an individual shopping profile for each user, promoting relevant content each time a person revisits Regent Street.
The Crown Estate, who own the majority of Regent Street’s retail property, have said that this is the first time such technology has been used throughout one street.
The app will be free to download on for Android and Apple smartphones.
