The BBC is getting in on the London Fashion Week action this weekend with an exclusive series of behind-the-scenes programmes following style insiders, to be available only on iPlayer.
The first of three programmes is Susie Bubble Backstage, a show that will see Susie navigate her way through the hairdressers, stylists, makeup artists and creatives doing their prep behind the scenes, to reveal for the cameras the amount of work that goes into creating a catwalk show.
The second programme follows model and Strictly Come Dancing champion Abbey Clancy on her adventures on the front row, in Abbey Clancy on Frowers. “It’s exciting being on the front row and being dressed by some of the best designers around,” confides Abbey. “I love all the hustle and bustle surrounding fashion week. London is renowned for being one of the best fashion weeks around and the city is buzzing for the whole week.”
The last programme in the series, Daisy Lowe On Trends, will reveal to viewers the style highlights of the season and some of the main looks emerging from the shows. Explaining her motivation behind fronting the show, Daisy said: “I love London Fashion Week because it’s bursting with creativity, with each show being such a beautiful surprise – and it’s my favourite city!”
The three programmes will be available on the 16th, 17th and 18th of September respectively. “It’s wonderful to be collaborating with the British Fashion Council to bring this event to BBC iPlayer and celebrate Britain’s reputation for innovation and creativity in this global industry,” commented iPlayer’s Head of TV Content Victoria Jaye. “I’m absolutely thrilled style icons and experts Daisy Lowe, Abbey Clancy and Susie Bubble are our guides to every aspect of the show – we just couldn’t be in better hands.”
