Kinder Aggugini redesigns English National Ballet costumes

London-based designer Kinder Aggugini has ‘reimagined’ costumes for the English National Ballet’s production of ‘The Rite of Spring’.

His designs consist of black panelled body suits that combine the style and durability required for a ballet costume, a process which Aggugini described as “a bit like designing a Batman outfit”.

The costumes reflect Kenneth MacMillan’s 1962 interpretation of ‘The Rite of Spring’, which is described by the English National Ballet as “visceral and energetic”.
