Kate Middleton Tops Vanity Fair’s Best Dressed list

Perhaps it’s her Alexander McQueen wedding gown, or her blue Issa dress and LK Bennett wedges which assert Kate Middeton as a style icon, and now she’s been recognised for her wardrobe by topping Vanity Fair’s ‘Best Dressed’ list of 2011. The Duchess of Cambridge beat off competition from fellow Royal Charlene Wittstock and First Lady Michelle Obama.

Kate last appeared on the list in 2008 and charged back in for 2011 to claim to top spot. Her signature elegant and simplistic style has cemented her as one of Britian’s biggest fashion exports and helped her beat Hollywood actresses Carey Mulligan and Tilda Swinton, who are also recognised on the list for their individual style.

On the mens side Brits Colin Firth and Jenson Button get a mention, as well as actor and singer Justin Timberlake.
