John Lewis turn back the clock for latest TV advert

John Lewis has exclusively unveiled its latest TV advert online before it hits our screens tomorrow night (September 15th). The advert features two people falling in love, but at different moments in time. On the left hand side of the screen we see a girl’s story from 1925, the year that John Lewis made it’s famous commitment to be ‘Never Knowingly Undersold’, and on the right hand side of the screen is the boy’s story who lives in the present day.

The message of the advert is that while many things change over time, the important things stay the same. It’s not quite the tear-jerker that the 2010 advert was, but like all John Lewis adverts it’s a welcome addition to any commercial break.

As with all John Lewis adverts the music is expertly chosen and this one is no different. Londoner Paloma Faith covers the INXS song, ‘Never Tear Us Apart’.
