John Galliano to stand trial on 22nd June

John Galliano will stand trial for public insult on 22nd June it was announced at a hearing in Paris today, which Galliano did not attend.

He faces the charges after being caught on film making racist and anti-Semitic remarks whilst drunk. The three people who accused him of the crime, Geraldine Bloch, Philippe Virgitti and Fathia Oumeddour, are listed plaintiffs expected to give evidence at the trial.

Galliano will be represented by new lawyer Aurélien Hamelle of Metzner Associés, Paris, after firing his former lawyer Stephane Zerbib earlier this month.
