Jean Paul Gaultier Couture Spring/Summer 2012 inspired by Amy Winehouse

The Amy influence was clear at the Jean Paul Gaultier spring/summer 2012 couture show, with beehive wigs, hoop earrings and even a jazz quartet singing her songs as models strutted down the runway.

Jean Paul Gaultier, who hails Winehouse as a true fashion icon, channelled all the rockabilly elements of the late singer into colourful and elaborate collection. Each design was costume like, recreating Amy’s retro style in theatrical shapes against a shady black and pink jazz club-esque backdrop.

Do you think the collection is a fitting tribute?
