James Bay and Topman have teamed up to produce a 13-piece capsule collection inspired by James’ art and music.
The clothing items reflect the singer’s own personal style, including skinny-fit t-shirts and jeans, a black leather biker jacket, and a slim black suit.
Items in the collection feature original illustrations taken from James’ sketchbook and the lyrics from his music. Examples include a black denim jacket with an embroidered decoration of interlocking hands, inspired by his album ‘Chaos and the Calm’, and a t-shirt with lyrics from his song, ‘Incomplete’.
Gordon Richardson, creative director at Topman, said: “It’s always exciting for Topman to collaborate with personalities outside the world of fashion as it challenges all our normal perceptions. James has been no exception; he has diligently translated his unique sense of style into the perfect 13-piece capsule collection with as much care and attention he would for one of his albums.”
For the launch of the collection, James appeared in a live window installation at the Topman flagship store on Oxford Street. He created a “Wall of Inspiration” using his own artwork and drawings created by customers during the two-hour event.
The collection is available in store and online from Topshop.com now. Pieces are priced between £25 and £200.
