Hot on the heels of the news that Hermes are set to open a watch and jewellery boutique in Harrods is the even more exciting announcement that the Parisian brand plan to double the size of their London flagship store.
The expansion on the current home of Hermes, located on the corner of New Bond Street and Bruton Street, will convert office space and an outdoor terrace into a shopping area, creating a mega boutique for the luxury brand.
Bertrand Michaud, Hermès UK managing director, said: “Hermès and its customers deserve a beautiful and out-of-the-ordinary store for a city as influential as London.”
Fashionistas hoping to bag a Birkin are in for a bit of a wait though, as the store isn’t expected to open until October of next year. In the mean time, Hermes are said to be looking for a temporary central London home to accommodate their iconic bags and coveted silk scarves, while work takes place at the flagship.
